Are *Most* People in Low Limits loose/bad players?

CardsChat Poker Forum - 1 hour 34 min ago
I've read that low limit players online are very lax and don't take the game seriously, but from a little experience it seems many are tight, aggressive. I play at a table w/ 10 people online usually, and maybe 4 will stay in for the flop. And they're pretty apt to fold. So then I watched higher stakes games and saw the people playing similarly.

I'm thinking everyone's read the standard books and more are less are the same now, with few bad players anymore to take money from.

Is player stat tracking software commonplace?

CardsChat Poker Forum - 1 hour 41 min ago
I just finished reading "Winning Low-Limit hold em", outdated by 4 years. It mentioned pokertracker and other software that lets you see how passive/aggressive/tight/loose other players are (How many times they see flop etc.), but I feel like it'd have to be a lot more widespread by this point.

Does everyone playing $2+ limit holdem pretty much use it? Half? 25% of people?

I'm definitely downloading something because it's got to be really helpful, just want an idea of if others are using it or if it's against the rules in most poker sites?????

Full Tilt Table Mods

CardsChat Poker Forum - 2 hours 29 min ago
I have seen on this site where people have created tables to use on Full Tilt Poker. I would really like to be able to use some of these, however it isn't working for me. I am currently running Windows Vista and follow the instructions step by step on how to install them. However the problem comes when I try to save it in notepad. It says it can not create the file and to make sure the file name and path is correct. Does anyone know what I can be doing wrong?

Epiphany

CardsChat Poker Forum - 2 hours 31 min ago
I need to replace the word "if" with the word "when" in my poker vocabulary. I always say "if", but I'm starting to think the "if" is doing something with my subconscious. It sort of gives me permission to fail.

"When" on the other hand does no such thing. There's no time limit on "when". "When" can come soon, or it can come late, but sooner or later it will come. "When" and "will" are positives while "if" is a negative.

Maybe all this belongs in my blog, but I was thinking I may not be alone. I was thinking I can't possibly be the only one with a little psychological glitch.

Anyhow, I'm believing, right or wrong, that good or bad, everyone wins. The secret's gotta be in maximizing the wins and minimizing the losses. So from now on the mantra's "When I win, I will win the most I can. When I lose I will lose the least I can".

I know it sounds strange, putting the word "lose" in a positive mantra. But losing like winning is inevitable. I'm an odd duck, I feel just as good about folding well as winning a hand, and I feel like losing the least amount of money or chips possible is similar. I believe it's something to feel good about. Owning the loss, but at the same time knowing I lost as little as possible, and handled it well, would I believe make me a better player overall, and maybe even a better person.

After all this, at least I always had the "how" and the "why" in place. "How"? By playing my best of course, and like everyone my best keeps getting better. "Why"? Silly, but I love it.

Short Stack strategy

CardsChat Poker Forum - 3 hours 9 min ago
Do you guys think is a good thing to do, use a short stack strategy in a low table like 0.10/0.20?
I've alredy tried twice and I always got called with stupid hands by loose agressive people and they flopped the pair or something to beat me

BoDog Client on Win2K

CardsChat Poker Forum - 3 hours 57 min ago
Does anyone run BoDog on a 2K machine?
Do you have problems with loading the side panels and ring game listing?

It seems to work fine on my XP box, but the win2k one is often frustrating :(

Post flop in sng's and mtt's

CardsChat Poker Forum - 4 hours 59 min ago
Being I am still in the lower limits I run into the chasers almost every hand. If you flop 2 pair or better how do you bet it. I have tried half pot bets, pot bets, double pot bets, even at times all in. They still call. I know in a cash game I can rebuy and eventually gain the lose back but in tournaments I am either out or seriously short stacked. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

what to do

CardsChat Poker Forum - 6 hours 42 min ago
I struggling with a long string of suck outs. Last 5 of 5 pocket KK's lost to draws, after raiseing pre-flop. Lost 4 out of 5 pocket AA, again raising preflop. These arent small min rasies, generally 4-5 times the blinds or higher.

Most group 1 hands cant hit.

I'm tilted and its effecting my play. I'm starting to put everyone on the nuts, thus making me run scared.

How do u play throught these runs of bad beats???

WHICH TOP TEN PRO’S WOULD YOU CHOOSE

CardsChat Poker Forum - 7 hours 30 min ago
Say you could set up a final table with nine of your favorite pro’s that you would like to play.
Who would you pick and why? Here is my dream final table pick and the order I would place them in for difficulty to beat.

1. Phil Ivey - Probably the best player out there right now
2. Patrick Antonius - The toughest wild card at any final table
3. Daniel Negreanu - One of the greatest table read players today
4. David Benyamine - Plays for the big bucks and wins
5. Doyle Brunson - Absolutely no reason needed what so ever
6. Chris Ferguson - One of the most toughest by the numbers players
7. Sam Farha - An old time Vegas player with plenty of character
8. Phil Hellmuth - Just to watch him rant and rave on losing hands
9. Vanessa Rousso - Easy on the eyes, besides I think I can take her
- Pokeryall - How did he get on this final table, must be a typo

I have never owned a poker book in my life. Don't know if this is good or bad. But I'm thinking of using my 800 points on stars to get this one.

Rigged Definition

CardsChat Poker Forum - 7 hours 39 min ago
Rigged:

Adjective

Definition: I play poorly and couldn’t spot a flush draw if it was taped to the inside of the sunglasses I wear at my computer because it makes me look like the cool pros that I wish to emulate, even though I’m not really sure what that means. Often preceded by “F***ing” indicating exceptionally narrow-minded play, such as limping with A’s UTG.

Any use of the term indicates that a conversation including the words Outs or Live Cards would be beyond comprehension.

Usage: Primarily a part of the lexicon of players whose self-image vastly differs from their table image. See “Micro-stakes Johnny Chan” for further clarification.

Profitability: HUGE. When confronted with a player who frequently rants about rigged sites, it is best to offer comforting reassurances that they played all hands correctly, the poker world vastly under appreciates their true poker genius, then invite them to a ring game with you. Upon accumulation of all chips, politely leave the game, and distribute the users screen name to all members of your buddy list.

Problems w/ Carbon??

CardsChat Poker Forum - 7 hours 51 min ago
Has anybody else found any problems with Carbon Poker since they initiated the new software?? Since they up-dated their software, I've found the site not only seems to RUN much slower, it also sits me out when I tried playing in one of the SnGs?? But last Friday at the CC FR it seemed fine----today I was warned---"Adobe Flash Player is running slow" etc etc-- now, is it my computor? Or is it the connection? Or is it the new software?? Any body know????

Position

CardsChat Poker Forum - 10 hours 11 min ago
I have been thinking about position more and more as i play and am wondering what kind of hand you would need to play in the position left of the BB in a 6-9 player table.
